Congratulations to SquashSmarts!

Dear SquashSmarts:

It is the esteemed privilege of the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) and our sponsor AIG to declare SquashSmarts as the 1st place winner for the 2013 NCYS S.T.R.I.V.E. Organization of the Year! This award recognizes organizations that embrace a "kids first" approach, evidenced by their implementation of recognized best practices and policies that protect kids and promote safety. SquashSmarts is being honored as having accomplished the distinguished essentials of
S.T.R.I.V.E.: Sports Teach Respect, Initiative, Values and Excellence.

The SquashSmarts leaders, the athletes, the coaches, the volunteers, and the parents are being commended for their commitment to kids' safety and health, demonstrating to young people that it is possible for Sports to Teach Respect, Initiative, Values and Excellence without compromising safety. Together you have demonstrated a heartfelt passion and a contagious spirit for helping kids succeed in youth sports activities while maintaining a focused commitment to established safety procedures.

We applaud your dedication to deliver a consistent and comprehensive club training program that has safety and injury prevention as a primary focus through your top three safety initiatives: 1) Proper Grip and Mechanics of Squash; 2) Eye Protection Policies; and 3) Proper Hydration and Nutrition. We praise the SquashSmarts leaders, the athletes, the coaches, the volunteers, and the parents for their commitment to kids' safety and health as well as the academic tutoring and squash instruction.

SquashSmarts Five Pillars focus on Academic Support, Squash Instruction, Fitness and Nutrition, Personal Achievement, and Leadership. This model program will touch the lives of thousands of young people, coaches, volunteers, parents and administrators who admire your determination and courage of conviction to the vital role integrity, sportsmanship, academics, safety, life skills as well as sport skills play for a positive youth sports experience in a more wholesome society.

The National Council of Youth Sports and AIG will be holding a special event especially for you in recognition of this great achievement in November in your hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At that time, a check for $5,000 will be publically presented to SquashSmarts.

On behalf of more than 60-million boys and girls the NCYS membership represents, thank you for your amazing work, for your untiring dedication, your respected safety initiatives and for the meaningful opportunities you have given to the young athletes as well as to the youth sports industry.

Yours truly for the kids,
