SENATE letter for support of S.2123 - CARA- Template

Date______

Dear ________:

t has come to our attention that the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee will soon be considering S.2123 the Conservation and Reinvestment Act (CARA). This is the companion bill to H.R.701 which recently passed with broad bipartisan support by the U.S. House of Representatives. The Senate CARA bill already has sixteen co-sponsors!

On behalf of the 46 million youngsters participating in organized youth sports programs nationwide, I urge you to support S.2123 for a vote by the full Senate. The National Council of Youth Sports and its members are dedicated to providing greater opportunities for young people in our local communities. Parks, ballfields and recreational facilities are vital to keeping our children safe and involved in positive sports programs.

Revitalization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Act on a permanent and fully-funded basis will provide valuable resources we can use to meet this challenge. I urge your prompt action in support of S.2123.

Sincerely,
