FREE Coaching Healthy Habits Training
May 24, 2016
NCYS is helping coaches and parents promote healthy behaviors with youth athletes. Recognizing this opportunity, NCYS is working with Healthy Kids Out Of School, an initiative of ChildObesity180 at Tufts University, that collaborates with national out-of-school-time organizations to promote three healthy principles: Drink Right, Snack Smart, and Move More!
"The National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) supports our members in helping youth athletes practice healthy habits in sports and life. Coaching Healthy Habits provides FREE coach training and parent resources, says Sally S. Johnson NCYS Executive Director. "Here at NCYS, we know coaches play a significant role in helping kids be healthy both on and off the field. We're asking our member organizations to promote simple health behaviors that can impact not only the players, but coaches and families as well."
Bring Coaching Healthy Habits to your organization with these 3 easy steps:
1. Share the 6-minute Coaching Healthy Habits training video with all your coaches. You can embed the training on your own website or share on social media channels.
2. Distribute educational materials to coaches and parents. Visit www.coachinghealthyhabits.org to find snack lists, tips on hydration, and more free resources.
3. Create a healthy concession stand using these simple ideas: 3 Steps to a Healthier Concession Stand .
