The STRIVE Award, presented by NCYS and AIG,
praises sports organizations' commitment to young
athletes' health, wellness and safety.


NCYS and AIG are proud to present the STRIVE Award for Organization of the Year. This award recognizes organizations implementing promising practices and policies to protect young athletes.

This award praises organizations’ commitment to young athletes’ health, wellness and safety. It demonstrates that it is possible for Sports to Teach Respect, Initiative, Values and Excellence without compromising safety.

Promising practices may include background screening for employees, contractors and volunteers, head injury and concussion education, baseline testing, nutrition and hydration, facility and equipment maintenance and response to injuries, etc.

STRIVE Award Nominations

For award consideration, the STRIVE Award nominees must demonstrate a commitment to at least three health and safety initiatives. All finalists must demonstrate adherence to NCYS criminal background screening process. The top “Five for STRIVE” finalists’ profiles will be placed on the STRIVE Organization of the Year webpage and promoted via social media. The general public will be able to vote for their favorite finalist.

August 18 – September 30, 2019:   Nominations are open

October 7 – November 11, 2019:   The top “Five for STRIVE” finalists are selected

November 25, 2019:  Online voting is open to the public

December 12, 2019:  Online voting is closed
